Happy New Year

Another year draws to an end and I find myself tying up some loose details, and knee-deep in Web design projects. The details are boring and highly technical, so I’ll skip them here.

It will be interesting to see how history treats 2008. So many bad things happened and yet some were historic and amazing at the same time. I guess how 2009 plays out may well tell the story of how we regard 2008.

As usual, politics aren’t far from my thoughts. One of the reasons I’m rushing to get things done professionally is because I need to devote more time in 2009 to my own race. More on that — except of course, that I’m looking for volunteers — as I know it. So keep tuned.

Meanwhile, may we all have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Ending Radio Silence

It’s been a while, I know. And I have had so much to say, but felt the need to keep my mouth shut for one reason and one reason only: my arm was twisted (slightly) and I expect to appear on ballots all over Chester County in 2009.

While I weighed my options and spent time putting together a team — I thought it made a lot of sense to cool it here on the old blog — which will continue on and be part of the eventual campaign site, just like last year when I ran for Township Supervisor. This year, as I run for Clerk of the Courts of Chester County, I’ll continue to comment on things pretty much the way I have always. You might not like or agree with the opinions, but just as I did in my newspaper columnist days, I’ll continue to tell it like I see it.

My biggest mistakes in politics have always come from trying to be a politician — which at the end of the day, I’m not. I’m lousy at telling people what they want to hear and it comes across as phony. So it’s not going to happen here going forward, either. I’m hoping a year from now, if you read back the entries you’ll see the same strong opinions that have always been here. Read the rest of this entry »
